March 5, 2020 | Chelsea Hewitt Hanover, NH completed the same road demonstration for the advisory lanes we are testing this July-September 2020, and ultimately installed them permanently. Their pilot project was initially installed in September 2014. The Advisory Lanes were painted on 400 meters of Valley Road in Hanover. This particular route was chosen because it was a key link in their network, connected downtown, neighborhoods and schools and met the low traffic volume and max speed limit requirements. The committee conducted pre and post-surveys of Valley Road residents as well as observed traffic patterns (both vehicle and bike/ped) before and after installation. Key partners in this project were the Hanover Bike & Ped Committee, the Hanover Public Works & Police Departments, the Hanover SB & Valley Road Residents.
