Welcome to Danville!

The Town of Danville is a classic, rural Vermont community that lies along an east-west corridor connected by Rte 2, Route 15, and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Route 2 and its connection to Route 15 to the west and Montpelier to the south is the most significant east-west corridor in Northern Vermont. West Danville provides trailhead access to the LVRT and is home to Joe’s Pond, a gorgeous scenic and recreational resource that provides multi-season activities to residents and tourists. Further east along the Lamoille Valley Trail is Danville’s 150-year-old Train Station, a historic and treasured community landmark. The Train Station is undergoing a major renovation starting in 2023 to become the future transportation and recreation hub for the community. It will provide trail users with amenities such as public restrooms, information kiosks and cultural displays. Here you will find secure bike parking, water access and a bike repair station. The LVRT crosses Peacham Road at this location, which provides a direct route to the pituresque Village Green and Danville’s Village Center offering visitors with places to stop, eat, and shop. The Town Clerk’s Office, post office, public library and school are also located here.
